BaZi Compatibility
When two are of one heart, their strength can cut through metal.I Ching, Xici I
Where you complement each other, where friction starts, and whether the coming years keep you in step.
How two people fit is not a single score
We do not score you or hand down a verdict. A compatibility reading sets two charts side by side: what each of you wants in love, where you complement each other, where friction tends to start, and whether your next few years move in step.
People often come with questions like these
- We keep arguing over small thingsSee the combinations and clashes between your charts, and where friction comes from
- We are about to marry and want another perspectiveCompare how each of you approaches marriage and whether the next decade lines up
- We are so different. Can it last?Difference is not always a problem: see whether your elements fill each other's gaps
How this reading works
- No scores, no verdicts
Every chart has strengths and gaps. The reading describes how you relate; it does not decide whether you should stay together.
- Both charts are calculated first
Each chart is converted to local solar time and solar terms before comparison, so one error cannot skew the whole report.
- Down to everyday life
The final chapter covers how to talk, share roles and handle disagreements, not a vague blessing.

Understanding two BaZi charts
From birth details to a paired reading: understand the method, then connect the terminology with your experience of the relationship.
What is BaZi compatibility?
BaZi compatibility reads two individual Four Pillars charts together. Each person's birth year, month, day and hour is represented by a stem–branch pair, forming eight characters. A paired reading begins with each chart, then considers connections between them. Traditional birth-chart matching and marriage readings belong to this broader practice.
Traditional marriage readings use the context of a partnership. bazitao follows that context: understand each chart, examine elements, stems, branches and cycles, then translate the terminology into topics for discussion. A reading can start a conversation; it cannot replace trust, shared values or choices, or guarantee a relationship's outcome.
Reading two charts together
Individual patterns come first
The reading first considers relationship themes in each chart. The Day Stem, or Day Master, is the reference for the Ten Gods; the Day Branch is traditionally called the spouse palace. These terms need the context of a complete chart, rather than a label used to predict personality or marriage.
Elements and complementarity
Visible counts of Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal and Water are verifiable chart facts. Favourable elements involve an interpretation of the whole chart. A low count does not mean a partner must supply that element. Read the distribution separately from the interpretation and in the context of both charts.
Stems, branches and their positions
The reading compares stems and branches across the charts. When you see terms such as combination, clash, punishment or harm, check which characters and pillar positions are involved before reading the interpretation. A term alone is not a fixed verdict of good or bad.
Compare cycles on a shared timeline
The two people may enter their luck cycles at different times. The report places them on the same calendar-year timeline instead of assuming that each person's third cycle happens simultaneously. This explains traditional periods; it does not forecast dates of real events.
Bring the reading back to daily life
The overview, two birth charts and analysis lead into practical discussion prompts. Use the plain-language explanations to explore communication, daily arrangements and expectations, then compare them with lived experience. Both people's feelings and circumstances matter more than chart labels in important decisions.
Check the birth details first
Date and calendar
Check whether the recorded date uses the Gregorian or lunar calendar. For a lunar date, also check the leap-month setting. Enter the original record and let the system convert it; do not convert it yourself and then select the lunar calendar again.
A known birth time
The current compatibility tool requires a complete, known birth time for both people. If you only know morning or afternoon, or the record is near an hour or day boundary, verify it first. Entering an arbitrary time turns an assumption into the basis of the reading.
Birthplace and time zone
Choose the actual birth city or town and enter the local clock time on the birth record. For births outside China, do not first convert to Beijing time. The location identifies the time zone and historical daylight-saving rules. Select a location from the search results after typing its name.
Calculation settings and permission
Enter the local clock time from the birth record; you do not need to convert it or choose a time basis. For manually entered profiles, the system uses the birthplace to calculate apparent solar time with a 23:00 day boundary. Saved profiles retain their original calculation settings. Obtain the other person's permission and read the AI-processing consent before submitting.
From details to a reading
Enter or select both profiles
Each person can use manual entry or a saved chart, including one of each. Saved charts belong to your current account and must also have complete, unambiguous birth times.
Review and submit
Review both people's birth dates, times and locations, then sign in and confirm consent. The system validates and calculates the charts before creating an asynchronous reading task. Wait for progress after submission; there is no need to submit repeatedly.
Read the overview, then the evidence
The seven chapters cover the overview, both birth charts, individual relationship patterns, complementarity, stem–branch ties, aligned cycles and practical suggestions. Technical passages have plain-language explanations. Expand evidence and references to distinguish calculations, traditional judgements and AI interpretation.
Return through your workbench
Readings are saved to your account. Open Workbench → Compatibility history to view reports, check progress or filter by status. Refreshing and reopening history only reads existing tasks. If generation fails, open its details before deciding whether to retry.
Three common misconceptions
Do clashing zodiac signs rule out a relationship?
A zodiac animal concerns the Year Branch; a Four Pillars chart also includes the month, day, hour and their relationships. A zodiac table leaves out much of that context. Even a complete reading should not be used to tell someone to start or end a relationship.
Should a partner supply a missing element?
A low or absent visible element is not the same as a favourable element in traditional interpretation. Complementarity needs the context of both charts. Real support also involves communication, shared responsibility and respect for each other's needs, which an element label cannot capture.
Does a clash mean an unhappy marriage?
A clash is a traditional term describing a chart relationship, not a verdict on a marriage. Check the pillar positions and full explanation rather than equating one pattern with separation, divorce or harm. bazitao provides neither compatibility scores nor guarantees of relationship success.
Compatibility questions
Is BaZi compatibility the same as zodiac matching?
Zodiac matching mainly compares the birth-year branches. BaZi compatibility starts with each person's year, month, day and hour pillars, then reads the individual charts and their elements, stem–branch relationships and cycles. It uses more information but remains a traditional interpretive framework.
Can I use this tool without a birth time?
This tool currently requires complete, known birth times for both people and does not support unknown-time compatibility readings. Do not substitute noon or another arbitrary time. You can first use the individual BaZi calculator's unknown-time option to view the parts that can be established, then verify the birth record.
Should an overseas birth time be converted to Beijing time?
No. Enter the date and time as recorded locally and select the actual birthplace so the system can handle the time zone. Records near daylight-saving transitions or other time boundaries may need further verification. Avoid guessing or converting the same time twice.
Do I need to choose solar time or convert the birth time myself?
No. For manual entry, use the local clock time on the birth record and select the actual birthplace; the system calculates apparent solar time automatically. Saved profiles retain their original calculation settings. You can check the time and settings actually used under Calculation details in the report.
Do I need an account, and can I use saved charts?
You can begin entering details before signing in. Submitting a reading requires login and consent to process both profiles. Once signed in, either person can use a saved chart from the current account or manual entry. Saved charts need complete, known birth times.
Where can I find previous readings?
Sign in to the original account and open Workbench → Compatibility history to see reports and task status, including on another device. Refreshing or reopening an existing report does not generate it again. Failed tasks show a message on their details page.
Does changing the language regenerate the report?
No. The interface language changes, while saved reading text remains in the language in which it was generated. Open a previous report from history; switching the interface language does not require resubmitting either person's details.
Can a reading prove that two people are compatible?
No. bazitao does not provide fate or marriage-compatibility scores or guarantee outcomes. Calculations are presented separately from AI interpretation. Use the reading to explore traditional ideas and start a conversation; decisions about a relationship should be grounded in both people's wishes and actual circumstances.
Start with two accurate profiles
Check both birth times and places, then sign in and confirm consent to begin.
Traditional chart reading is for cultural exploration and conversation, not a prediction or guarantee of a marriage outcome.
